Cyprus FinTech Expo 2.0 took place on 13^th Nov 2018 and we were there!

PHILOSHOPERS attended to engage with the local FinTech community! We felt right at home this year as the innovative use of technology towards an overall better customer experience is what our solutions deliver to the Financial Services industry, much alike our solutions for the Retail industry too, and it felt good! This message was echoed by most of the speakers and attendees as a core objective needed to win in a highly competitive landscape!

Addressing the enthusiastic crowd of 500+ new and familiar faces, our Co-Founder and Director Demetris Constantinou, introduced the FinTech & Banking Session, posing the question; ‘to bank or not to bank?’. Although Banks may generally view the FinTech Unicorns as a threat, embracing and turning into fintech hubs themselves is actually an opportunity that we see gaining traction internationally – something we like to call #Fintechgration.

Further down the line, Demetris then introduced the New Technologies session demonstrating the fundamental ABC’s of the new digital era; AI, Blockchain, Cloud, Data (and more Data..), emphasizing  that the 4^th Industrial Revolution we are currently experiencing, came much sooner and bolder than ever before – technologies such as AI and the Cloud may not be so “new” however, amazing use cases surface at speeds we have not experienced before.

Keynote speaker Siam Kidd closed the conference with a great keynote point; Disrupt yourself or else be disrupted! He gave many examples of businesses that failed to do so and vanished and predicted which ones may soon be history – The only companies that will THRIVE in the new tech shift are those that aren’t scared to step outside the box and imagine the endless possibilities! When we, as PHILOSHOPIC, help businesses disrupt their legacy and successful customer loyalty and engagements programs, we certainly do exactly that; help them ride the new wave before the newcomers disrupt the industry again and get left behind or on the sidelines. The beauty of SMASH Loyalty & Consumer Engagement framework is that it can support both legacy and next-gen solutions!

It was an awesome event and a great opportunity for us to engage with the Cyprus FinTech Community – Thank you IMH for the invitation and we look forward for FinTech Expo 3.0! It has been an amazing great week for our PHILOSHOPERS  turning Devoxxians in Belgium for an in-depth exploration into the world of Java!

This years conference honed in on AI, Big Data, Cloud & Containers, Security, and all-new Java features, all concepts that we incorporate in our frameworks, so attending this year was essential to ensure that we stay up to date with the newest technology and trends.

Joining over 2000 other developers, the annual conference is a great way to really engage with the community and connect with some of the leading names in the industry, such as Google, Oracle, & IBM, and see, up-close, all the new possibilities and features available, to bring you even more exciting solutions in the long run!  That’s what we love about Devoxx (oh…also the belgian chocolates our team MUST bring back home each time they get there…)

Participating in both the hands-on lab sessions and specialized lecture talks allow  our developers to dive straight into experiencing new things first hand and discover them with their creators!

Our team of PHILOSHOPERS were able to gather and share ideas and came back full of knowledge and new inspirations and so stay tuned for even bigger, better, and more exciting consumer solutions we can’t wait to share with you!
